Looking to recognize surveillance and how to counter it

Taking decisive and offensive action prior to an attack can prevent a situation from getting worse and keeps the potential attacker off balance. If training, experience, and instinct tell a driver that something is wrong or an attack is about to happen, action must be taken without hesitation.

Who am I looking for? What am I looking for? When will it happen? Where will it happen? Prepare to mentally react or respond (mindset) in case something happens. The preplanning phase must cover all of this, there must be some type of counter surveillance or have some knowledge of the victim’s potential attackers. Prepare for expecting the unexpected; watch for any type of surveillance, use deductive reasoning regarding a coincidence of any unusual activity in the vicinity, gather intelligence appropriate to security and possible threats level of an attack. Remain abreast of news report of any unusual activity or other incidents and compile sufficient information to calculate and assess the threat potential.
